Sonam Lhomi
Sonam Lhomi is 26 years old, and works as one of owners of BHN. She’s been married for five years, and has one daughter named Kripa. Before starting BHN, she worked as a trekking guide for girls, and income was very minimal. Now she’s able to buy food, pay her rent, and help relatives when needs arise. Sonam never imagined that BHN would grow or become what it is today. She loves hiring new women artisans and offering trainings for growth. Sonam and the other two owners feel very privileged to be the first Lhomi women in Nepal to own a business.
Sijok Lhomi
Sijok Lhomi is 32 years old, and works as one of the BHN managers. Before starting BHN, she ran her family’s pig farm and worked at a restaurant. Her life was very difficult during this time, but now her job allows her to work from the convenience of her own home. Sijok uses her BHN income to help her relatives and community when emergencies arise. She loves offering various trainings and ministering to the BHN artisans. Sijok’s goal is to help women and their families throughout the Himalayan mountains through this business.
Lhakpa Chere Lhomi
Lhakpa Chere Lhomi is 40 years old, and works as the third BHN manager. She’s been married for 16 years, and has two daughters and one son. Before working at BHN, she knit wool socks full-time for a living. During that time, she only made around $30 a month which didn’t help support her family. Now, her BHN salary helps purchase food for her family and pay for her daughter’s school fees. Lhakpa is extremely creative and hardworking. She loves teaching the BHN ladies how to make BHN bracelets for a living, and providing jobs for women. Her favorite part of BHN is the connection and unity between the BHN artisans. In the future, Lhakpa hopes to provide more jobs to underprivileged women.
Kinsang Bhote
Kinsang Bhote is a 33 year old BHN artisan of 4 years. She’s been married for 7 years, and has one daughter. Her husband is language translator in Kathmandu. Her BHN income helps pay for her daughter’s school fees, and on her family’s loan. Kinsang loves spending time every Tuesday with the other BHN artisans to laugh and share life with each other.
Yute Bhote
Yute Bhote is 36 years old. She’s been married for 17 years, and has 3 daughters. Her husband is working in Dubai for two more years. Her BHN income helps her pay for food, children’s school fees, and house rent. Yute’s favorite thing about working at BHN is receiving health trainings, and learning how to exercise to stay healthy.
Joma Bhote
Joma Bhote is 26 years old. She’s been married for 6 years, and has a son and daughter. She’s worked at BH for 2 years now. Her husband works as a trekking cook. Her BHN income helps pay for food, house rent, and cooking fuel. Joma enjoys BHN Christmas parties and receiving her first and only Christmas presents. She loved learning various exercises at the health trainings.
Sangmu Lhomi
Sangmu Lhomi is a 42 year old BHN artisan of 4 years. She’s been married for 19 years, and has two boys and one daughter. Her family makes chaang, a Tibetan rice liquor. Her BHN income helps her pay children’s school fees and home goods. Sangmu’s favorite time of the year is when BHN hosts company picnics and Christmas parties.
Chingjik Lhomi
Chingjik Lhomi is a 48 year old wife and mother to three biological children. Besides working diligently at BHN, she runs a children’s home where she has lovingly raised countless children. Chingjik currently cares for 21 children. Her BHN salary gives her the funds to take care of her whole family and give back. She enjoys receiving health trainings specially for women at BHN, because it’s difficult to receive such trainings in Nepal.
Yangla Bhote
Yangla Bhote is 18 years old, and lives with her family of five members. She’s been at BHN for one year now. The BHN income allows her to pay her college fees completely by herself without relying on her family. Yangla’s currently studying management, and still figuring out exactly what she wants to do with her degree. She loves coming to the office on Tuesdays to work, socialize with the other ladies, and receive trainings.

Aakchungma Bhote is 39 years old. She’s been married for 20 years, and has two daughters and one son. Her BHN income helps her pay for her children’s school fees and paying for home necessities. In her four years at BHN, Aakchugma’s favorite thing is hearing stories about hope and receiving health trainings. She feels grateful that BHN has been so good to her.

Sam Chippa Lhomi is a 29 year old BHN artisan of 4 years. She’s been married for 8 years, and has one son and daughter. Her husband is currently working in Korea. Her BHN income helps her with food and kid’s school payments. Her favorite memory at BHN was when her child was very sick, and BHN gave her children’s vitamins and nutrition training. Her child grew stronger and healthier from the vitamins. She was overjoyed that her employers would care and help.
Neema Lhomi
Neema Lhomi is a 21 year old BHN artisan. She’s worked at BHN since 2012. Her income helps with her school fees and personal needs. When her mom had cancer, she was able to help purchase some medicine and soup to help. She loves the health trainings provided by BHN, which have taught her a lot about exercise and nutrition. Each week, she enjoys hearing about the True Hope and it gives her confidence to share with others.
Shangjung Ma Bhote
Shangjung Ma Bhote is 45 years old, and has been at BHN since the very beginning. She has been married for 19 years, and has one son who is studying humanities in college. Shangjung Ma’s husband is a trekking guide throughout Northern Nepal. Her BHN income helps her pay for food and her son’s school fees. Her favorite thing about working at BHN is the friendships that have grown with her coworkers, and sharing with each other in times of difficulty.
